Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 2026
Patterns by Lauren is committed to making this website as accessible and easy to use as possible.
I want everyone to be able to explore Patterns by Lauren, discover my crochet designs and purchase products with as little difficulty as possible, regardless of ability, device or technology.
Our approach to accessibility
I aim to make the website accessible by:
Using clear and easy-to-understand language.
Using clear headings and logical page structures.
Providing alternative text for important images where appropriate.
Ensuring text has sufficient contrast against its background.
Designing the website to work across a range of devices and screen sizes.
Using descriptive links and buttons where possible.
Avoiding unnecessary animation or movement where practical.
Ensuring important information is not communicated through colour alone.
Making digital crochet patterns as clear and usable as reasonably possible.
The website is built using Squarespace, which provides accessibility features and tools that support accessible website design. However, accessibility can vary depending on the device, browser, assistive technology and third-party services being used.
Digital crochet patterns
Patterns by Lauren crochet patterns are provided as digital files.
I aim to make patterns clear, well structured and easy to navigate. However, crochet patterns can contain diagrams, photographs and other visual information which may not be equally accessible to everyone.
If you have an accessibility requirement that makes it difficult for you to use one of my patterns, please get in touch. Where reasonably possible, I will try to provide an appropriate alternative or reasonable assistance.
Third-party services
Some parts of the website may rely on third-party services, such as payment providers, email services or digital product delivery platforms.
I do not have complete control over the accessibility of these services, but I aim to use reputable services that provide accessibility support where possible.
Feedback and assistance
I welcome feedback about the accessibility of Patterns by Lauren.
If you experience a problem using the website, purchasing a product or accessing a crochet pattern because of an accessibility issue, please contact me.
I will do my best to understand the issue and find a reasonable solution.
Email: lauren@patternsbylauren.com
When contacting me about an accessibility issue, it can be helpful to tell me:
Which page or product you were trying to access.
What difficulty you experienced.
What device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if relevant.
What you would need to make the content more accessible.
You do not need to provide any information about a disability or medical condition unless you wish to do so.
Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing process. I will continue to review the website and make improvements where reasonably possible as Patterns by Lauren develops.
As new products and services are introduced, I will consider accessibility as part of their development.
